In Memoriam
On August 9th, 1995, while on assignment for the BBC, Omar al-Issawi was traveling with 3 BBC colleagues from Karlovac, Croatia to Bihac in Bosnia. They left their armored vehicle to film burning villages when Croatian soldiers opened fire. BBC reporter John Schofield was killed, al-Issawi and the cameraman were shot and wounded. John Schofield was 29, a father-to-be who at the time of his death did not know that parenthood awaited him.
John Schofield
"May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rain fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand."
"May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rain fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand."
