Harb Loubnan, War of Lebanon

Harb Loubnan, the War of Lebanon, is a landmark documentary chronicling Lebanon's civil war.  It was the first documentary of this scope and nature ever produced and broadcast in the Arab world.
The series, composed of 15 one-hour programs, was produced and directed by Omar al-Issawi for Al Jazeera Satellite Channel. 
It was available commercially on VHS tapes and DVD.  The set
included a CD of the original musical score .  English and French subtitles were included in the DVD.

Hekayat Thawra, A Tale of Revolution

Hekayat Thawra, A Tale of Revolution, is another major documentary produced and directed by Omar al-Issawi for Al Jazeera Satellite Channel.  The program documents the history of the Palestine Liberation Organization in a series of 13 one hour shows.It was broadcast by Al Jazeera between October 10th 2008, and February 3rd, 2009.The program includes the last known interview given by Yasser Arafat in which the late Palestinian leader detailed the history of the PLO and his Fatah movement.
Also of note is the last known interview with the Secretary General of the Palestine Liberation Front, Abul Abbas, before his capture and imprisonment by the Americans after the occupation of Iraq and his subsequent death in custody.  
Other notable interviews include several former operatives from the Black September Organization including one of the assassins of Jordanian Prime Minister Wasfi al-Tal.

Other Documentaries

Al-Issawi has also produced other documentaries in the 30-45 minute range for Al Jazeera.  They include a documentary about weapons of mass destruction (WMD)  and another about the use of depleted uranium (DU) in the 1991 Gulf  War.
